The Series 6 has many of the same features as the lower end models in Samsung’s 2009 line. With a 178 degree view angle, and four HDMI 1.3 inputs, the Samsung B650 is a solid choice. It has Samsung’s Auto Motion Plus 120Hz frame-interpolation technology, designed to virtually eradicate motion haziness and judder. In terms of picture quality, LN32B650 is possibly the best 32 inch LCD TV.

While it is a LED backlit LCD TV, Samsung UN32B6000 doesn’t benefit of the exceptional picture of B8500 models. However, in the 32 inch size class, it is one of the best models, sitting roughly on the same level with LN32B650 above. The black levels are deep, though not as deep as seen on models available in other sizes, and colors are very accurate, this set offering a rich set of picture settings. On the downside, as many other LED LCD TVs, the UN32B6000 presents poor off-angle performance and some uniformity issues.

Sony KDL-32S5100 1080p LCD TV

More of an entry-level model, the S series from Sony has 1080p resolution. It only has a 60Hz refresh rate. It does include a Bravia Internet Video Link, and a PC input. The S series has a standard fluorescent backlighting, and it’s black levels are good but not comparable to those of Panasonic UN32B6000 or LN32B650. However, the colors are quite acurate. The audio has problems with distortion at low levels and just as UN32B6000 from Samsung, the KDL-32S5100 has some uniformity problems.

The LH40 features a TruMotion 120 Hz panel and intelligent sensor. It has a USB port and four HDMI inputs. The 32LH40 has average black levels, Samsung B650 and B6000 models clearly surpassing it in this department.

Panasonic TC-L32X1 720p LCD TV

The X1 series stands out with its universal iPod dock. The dock lets users to view iPod audio and video content by accessing the remote and is compatible with most iPods for music and videos. Panasonic’s iPod menu system offers music, videos, and podcasts categories for users to access. The dock can also charge an iPod while it’s playing. Though Panasonic plasma TVs have exceptional black levels and picture quality, the same thing can not be said about their LCD models, TC-L32X1 being an LCD with pretty poor black levels. If users engage the A.I. picture feature on the TC-L32X1 the picture improves a bit, but its inconsistency can be very distracting.
