Recommended Viewing Distance for 60 – 65 inch HDTV
In order to get the best out of your HDTV, it is recommended to sit at the right distance. Depending on the type of content you are watching and the distance between you and the HDTV screen, a certain size will be optimal. If you want to find out more on this topic, make sure to read HDTV Screen Size & Viewing Distance guide.
The optimal distances above are for perfect visual acuity. Also, you can sit a bit closer or further away without noticing a loss in detail. 1080i/1080p distances apply only to HDTV models that have 1080p native resolution.
Panasonic TC-P65V10 will give you 65 inch of awesomeness. From all large screen flat-panel HDTVs, this is the best one, by far better than the ones below. It benefits from the superb black levels, THX mode and nice features that are specific to Panasonic V10 series. If you have the money for it (it is quite expensive), is is guaranteed to make your jaw drop.
Though not the best large screen flat-panel plasma TV, Panasonic TC-P65S1 is less expensive than its brother from V10 series. That means if you can live with a picture quality that is not the very best, but very good nevertheless, TC-P65S1 will save you some bucks. It has similar black levels to the above TC-P65V10 but the color accuracy is not as good (it has no THX mode).

Samsung PN63B590 is a large plasma TV that has great colors and better black levels than previous Samsung models. It is in the same performance class with the Panasonic TC-P65S1 above and the Samsung PN63B550 below. Compared to them it is a bit more gifted on the features side. If you are not interested that much in fancy features however, the PN63B550 below is slightly cheaper.
Samsung PN63B550 is very much like its sibling, the PN63B590. With intense black levels and vivid colors, PN63B550 offers solid picture quality and performance. While it’s a step-down version of PN63B590, there are little differences. The PN63B550 has no Cinema Smoothing Mode (1080p/24p) and the screen filter is an improvement on the PN63B590. Other than that, performances are pretty much the same.
