The models from the high-end LG LH90 series are the best LCD TVs that LG launched in 2009. Available in 42, 47 and 55 inch size variants, the LH90 LCDs are significantly better than any other HDTV from LG. While other manufacturers offer THX certified HDTVs, the LH90 models have possibly the most accurate colors of all HDTVs on the market. However, this is not enough to make LG LH90 the best HDTVs out there. While the LED back-lighting helps these TVs achieve deep black levels, LH90 doesn’t outperform the top of the line models from Samsung UN B8500 LCD TVs or Panasonic V10 plasma TV series. LG LH90 picture is also hindered by the somewhat poor viewing angle and some picture artefacts. All that being said, models from LH90 series are definitely top performers. Moderate in size, but more than average in performance, LG 47LH90 is guaranteed to make a good impression, especially because of superior picture quality. Some minor flaws bring the model down a few notches, but if you can live with a little blooming effect, or the fact that the dejudder processing must be engaged in the same time with the anti-blur features, then LG 47LH90 is one of the best LCD TVs that you can buy. It must also be mentioned that LG 47LH90 has great connectivity, and a matte screen that fights off reflections without any hassle.
This 42 inch LCD TV has a lot to offer, as the LH90 series from LG is ambitiously aiming to match image performance consumers usually see on plasma televisions. LG 42LH90 sports a lot of connectivity options, amazing black levels for an LCD TV, great looking colors, and new technologies, such as 240Hz refresh rate, local dimming and LED-backlighting. Although it does have some minor issues, like the effect of blooming when white objects are projected on a black background, overall, LG 42LH90 is a very good LCD TV, gifted with everything that is needed for a great watching experience.
No such combination of good and bad may have been encountered, as it can be seen in the LCD TV model that carries the name LG 55LH90. The LG representative seems to have it all: a large screen (55 inches), great black levels, great color accuracy, almost perfect connectivity, anti-reflective capabilities. Yet, there are some flaws that make the rain come down on this 55 inch LED-backlit LCD TV’s parade. It has no S video input, there are some image flaws present, like blooming, and washed out colors when watched from off angle, and the dejudder processing is not as good as seen on the latest Samsung models. All in all, LG 55LH90 does deliver great picture quality, and, if you can live with its flaws, then it is a good option for you. Copyright © 2008-2012 Best HDTV Screen. All Rights reserved.
